I recently visited my “sister.” Long weekend, the two families hanging out, playing games, drinking and eating too much. Did a fun escape room, shout out to #Beattheroom in Rocklin. Awesome job on Deep Space!
Anyway, one night sitting around the table, the topic slides to the military and my sister says….
It’s all about the inability to communicate.
We nod sagely and inebriated (being honest here). She continues…
If you tell the Marines to secure a building, they will blow it up, nothing but rubble left.
If you tell the Army to secure a building, they will surround it and take custody of everyone inside.
If you tell the Navy to secure a building, they will turn off all the lights and lock the doors.
If you tell the Air Force to secure a building, they’ll sign a lease with an option to buy.
ROFL for days about that.
ROFL indeed…LOL….LOL again!!

I did an escape room and I must have gone to the absolute worst escape room available. I’ve seen on TV there are fancy ones with actors in costumes and awesome scenery and so on.
We get there. Wait ten minutes before someone comes to the counter. Almost think about leaving. Stay because we went there specifically for the escape room.
Teenage employee comes out. Has the most obvious I hate this job and I’m so unenthused and lazy and wish I wasn’t here face.
There’s no explanation. The rooms are like particle board partitions.
We start trying to figure it out. Finally we realize all the stuff isn’t where it is supposed to be. Eventually, I give up and grab the card off the wall that the employees are supposed to use to put it all back together after it’s done. We spend half the time arranging the room the way it was supposed to be at the start.
Eventually, I just give up. Others in party continue to try. I just wait for the clock to run out.
Giant NO REFUNDS sign when you walk in and after I realized why.
In conclusion, this has given me a very negative viewpoint on escape rooms.
Come to think about it, I might write a post about it at some point.
In further conclusion, I bid you continued success in your writerly endeavors.
